After moving to Hong Kong, I rediscovered some childhood treats, including White Rabbit candy (milk flavour toffee with an edible rice wrapper) and haw flakes (Chinese disc-shaped sweets that are made from hawthorn). My husband stumbled upon a local Hong Kong candy factory in Kwun Tong called Smith Confectionary, which makes the same candies my mom used to eat as a kid.
